1954 Lagonda V-12 Race Car
This is chassis DP115/2, one of a trio of race cars commissioned by David Brown fitted with a then-new 4.5-liter V-12 engine designed to compete in Europe's equally new "super sedan" class. Chassis DP115/1 raced at Silverstone, after which it competed at Le Mans where it was crashed on lap 25. Chassis DP115/2 was then called into service by the Aston Martin Lagonda factory team for the next race at Silverstone. It, along with chassis DP115/3, was prepared for the Mille Miglia; however, neither car competed. Both chassis were subsequently purchased by the Rank Organization and appeared in the 1956 film "Checkpoint." Chassis DP115/2 was later restored to its factory livery.
